English: Shared Futures 2025 builds on two previous Shared Futures conferences, hosted in Newcastle and Manchester. It is the UK’s largest conference in English Studies.

E:SF 2025 is co-hosted by the Universities of Huddersfield, Hull, Leeds, Leeds Beckett, Leeds Trinity, Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam, York and York St John. Events will take place in York, and the conference will include opportunities to learn more about the richness of English Studies in the region, and about Yorkshire’s distinctive literary, linguistic and creative heritage — and its future.

English: Shared Futures 2025 will bring together academics, teachers, policy makers, students and schoolchildren to celebrate and debate the future of English Studies. We look forward to welcoming you to York!

The conference will be held in several city centre venues including King’s Manor, De Grey House, and the Guildhall. The venues are within walking distance of one another, and less than a 20 minute walk from York station. York city centre is well served by public transport, including a good bus route running north from King’s Manor via Bootham and Clifton. We recommend booking accommodation in or close to the city centre, or close to the Bootham and Clifton area.

There is limited parking available at King’s Manor and we are happy to arrange a permit for Blue Badge holders and any other delegates with limited mobility.
